MinLic 2:1 Availa 4: A Free Choice Supplement for Cattle on Pasture
MinLic® 2:1 Availa® 4 supplement is specially formulated to enrich the diet of cattle without the added cost of supplemental protein. Your mineral program is only as good as the intakes of your herd. Cattle grazing high-quality pastures or forages can have lower intakes of traditional mineral supplements. However, low moisture blocks from SmartLic provide a robust mineral package in a palatable cooked molasses tub produced in a patented manufacturing system to deliver reliable intakes without added labor or management.
Because MinLic offers no added protein to a herd’s diet, these tubs are ideal for cattle grazing high quality pastures in the spring. With added calcium, 2:1 MinLic Availa 4 also supports animals grazing pastures and forages deficient in calcium.
Feeding Directions
Provide free choice as a supplement to pasture cattle at the rate of one block for each 15 to 25 head. Initially place blocks in grazing areas near locations frequented by livestock, such as watering locations, shade or loafing areas. Once cattle become acclimated to the product strategically distribute blocks throughout grazing area. Cattle normally consume approximately .50 pound per head daily. Consumption may vary depending on climate, grazing conditions, condition of livestock and/or availability of other feeds. In situations where climate and/or other factors result in consumption less than .50 pound per head daily, intake of supplement can be increased by increasing the number of blocks per pasture.
Provide access to fresh water and free-choice salt at all times.
For other SmartLic® feeding options for cattle on pasture, or when feeding stored forages, feed NE-12, NE-22, NE-30, Hi-Pro 40 or Pasture 40 depending on forage quality and required protein supplementation.
