Pasture 21 Mag: A Free Choice Supplement for Beef Cattle on Pasture

  • Weather Resistant
  • Mineral Fortified
  • Consistent Availability

Pasture-Mag 21 contains all the features of Pasture 21 plus the added benefit of extra magnesium in a highly palatable supplement that cattle will readily consume. Magnesium is needed for activation of enzymes, nerve transmission, skeletal tissue, bone formation and milk production. The combination of natural protein as well as non-protein nitrogen can help support forage utilization and animal performance when medium and low quality forages are fed. In addition to offering 21% protein*, Pasture 21 is highly fortified with vitamins A, D, and E, and contains up to 125% of NRC trace mineral requirements.

Protein often times becomes the most limiting nutrient for cattle grazing crop residues and dormant grass pastures. In these situations, protein supplementation is required to efficiently harvest energy from these protein deficient forage-based diets. Studies conducted at Kansas State University would illustrate that NGS protein supplements support both gain and efficiency when fed in conjunction with protein deficient forages.

These unique supplements are second to none when compared to other blocks. They are the products of a state-of-the-art patented process that provides a unique 24-hour feeding system. Pasture-Mag 21 supplements are exceptionally nutrient dense blocks that will give you the most for your money.

*This includes not more than 10% equivalent crude protein as non-protein nitrogen.

Feeding Directions

Provide free choice as a supplement to pasture cattle at the rate of one block for each 15 to 25 head. Place blocks in each pasture near areas frequented by livestock, such as watering locations, shade or loafing areas. Cattle normally consume approximately 3/4 pound per head daily. Consumption may vary depending on climate, grazing conditions, condition of livestock, and/or availability of other feeds. In situations where climate and/or other factors result in consumption of less than 3/4 pound per head daily, intake of supplement can be increased by increasing the number of blocks per pasture.

Provide access to fresh water and free-choice salt at all times.
